How and Why I did This

I created a basketball index based on nine variables and ranked them on what I believe make a good all around basketball player.

1. Field Goal %

2. Free Throw %

3. Points

4. Offensive Rebound

5. Assists

6. 3 Point %

7. Defensive Rebounds

8. Turnovers

9. Steals

The nine variables above are in order of importance to me when I created the formula to rank the players with everything but turnovers adding value to the player's total score.

I did this in hopes to display the over-evaluation and under-evaluation of various NBA players, comparing their salaries and performances.
